Learning to Read
The best part about Kindergarten for all of my students is that they finally learn to ready. Almost every child is excited to start Kindergarten because they know that by the end of it they will be able to read just like Mom and Dad! It is important to keep in mind that every student learns differently, and at their own pace. Always encourage your child, and build them up if they start to feel as if they are learning slower than some of their peers. If you and your child need extra help at home, feel free to ask me for some additional work so that you can help your child be as successful as possible! I also have many links on my website that they can practice on the internet. Words can be scary when you are first learning to read, so be patient with your child, and use every opportunity as a learning one! They can try and recognize words on a menu when you go out to eat, or try and read words on the billboards while stuck in traffic. Words are everywhere, so use this to your advantage! Practice always makes perfect, the more they read, the better they will get.
